Morley is out on business in Vietnam. He'll soon report back on entertainment (or lack thereof).
Here's what I can't figure out. Morley and I live in the San Fernando Valley which is reputedly the Porn Capital of the World. So why does the porn suck out here? Why is porn so damn expensive? Why is the entertainment so lacking?
I know that part of the answer is that, although many of the porn companies are here, that doesn't necessarily translate into better selection or savings. But one would hope.
The lack of entertainment, or lack of quality in entertainment, I think is due to an obsolete business model. Clubs are trying to go more upscale and present a wholesome image but it's a double whammy. The Economy stinks so people can't afford the upscale and even if they can afford it, once inside it's still the same method of operations: You, your cash, separated ASAP.
Unfortunately I'm not sure how to improve the business model. Ideas anyone?
